We will ride the Slippery Elm Bike Trail from Bowling Green, Ohio to North Baltimore, Ohio to observe the April 8 Total Solar Eclipse. We will leave the north terminus of the trail in Bowling Green at 1:40 pm EDT (sharp -- arrive at least 10 minutes before!). We will ride 11 miles to the south terminus of the trail in North Baltimore. The eclipse begins at 1:56 pm EDT so part of the ride will take place after the eclipse has begun. We will arrive at the south terminus well in advance of totality, which begins at 3:10:54 pm EDT and lasts 3 minutes 26 seconds. We will depart when it becomes light enough to ride back. We should arrive back before 4:30 pm EDT.
REQUIRED:
1. Helmet
2. Approved eclipse glasses or pinhole camera. No one (even a former president) should look directly at a solar eclipse!
3. Sign in on the ride captain's signup sheet.
